Two dozen local Creators will fill the Linen Building first floor and mezzanine

Musician LARRY CLARK will perform; GREAT WESTERN BARBECUE CO. will serve smoked pulled pork and tri-tip sandwiches outside

Portion of market proceeds will benefit BOISE BICYCLE PROJECT

It's public market season in the Treasure Valley, and the Linen Building Sunday Market, the Valley's only year-round indoor market, will celebrate the spring from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at the Linen Building, 1402 W. Grove St. in Downtown Boise's Linen District. Admission to the Linen Building Sunday Market is always free. The Gallery at the Linen Building, the Linen Building's second-floor, loft-style art gallery, is also open during the market.

Since debuting in April 2009, every third Sunday of the month the Linen Building Sunday Market has showcased two dozen Creators offering locally-made arts and crafts, jewelry, clothing, produce, food and drink. The market is a unique, bike-friendly destination in the heart of Downtown Boise's happening Linen District.

May Sunday Market Creators include:

- Great Western Barbecue Co. Locally owned Great Western Barbecue Co. will be serving up competition-quality smoked pulled pork and tri-tip sandwiches, as well as an array of beverages.

Angie Berman. Angie makes her return to the market, filling the Linen Building mezzanine with a variety of vintage clothing and refurbished cowboy coots.

Karen Klinefelter (klinefelterstudio.com). Karen Klinefelter is a Vermont-born artist now living and working in Boise. She began working in metals as an apprentice nearly 20 years ago, and after a rewarding long-term position as assistant to award-winning jewelry designer Timothy Grannis, established her own studio in 1999. Her jewelry is inspired primarily by patterns and textures in nature and in man-made objects. Third-world travel has been a favorite opportunity to gather inspiring visuals. Studio time is intentionally playful. It often consists of creating collages of several elements, then breaking the complex designs down into their simplest, strongest components revealing the final design.

Joya Designs (joyadesigns.com). Come see Joya's new spring designs, which feature an array of color and new materials. Joya creates designs by the beautiful forms found in nature. You will find wood, stones, gems, found objects and metal in this collection. New spring cards are now ready for graduations and celebrations.

Jamison Rae Jewelry (etsy.com/shop/jamisonrae). May brings tons of new designs, primarily in sterling silver and 14k gold filled. All of Jamison's pieces are hand-forged in her Boise studio. She will have lots of fun stuff for spring and summer, and many items that would be perfect for that late Mother's Day gift.

Accents Inspired by Louise. Accents Inspired by Louise will feature 100-percent wool-felted handbags, shoulder bags and totes.

Your Fusion Art (yourfusionart.com). Your Fusion Art helps you create an impression with custom images on metal. For owner Susanna Reay, "Fusion" takes on a two-fold meaning: The fusing of the image onto the metal is actually the secondary fusion; the first one is the fusing of the minds, as Reay works with her customers from first inquiry to the final digital proof approval. What gives distinction to Reay's work is that her pieces show the images and capture the history from the real lives of the people who have commissioned her art.

Plum Organic and Modern Metal (plum.1000markets.com). Most know "plum" as a sweet little stone fruit, but "highly desirable" is the preferred definition of this Eagle-based business. Plum is in the business of imagining and then bringing to life totally unique handmade silver, copper and enamel jewelry.

Starcrafts. Starcrafts creates unique gifts out of recycled materials. Almost all the wood used is old fence, and wine bottles, silverware, corks, old door knobs and other objects are also repurposed and remade into one-of-a-kind items.

Fun with Penny/K9 Delights (buyk9delights.com). Come check out the new Cain-olis and Spring Puppy Bling designs - your dogs will love them! In addition to these great new items, favorites like Dog Jewelry, Liver Treats, Cupcakes, Frosted Biscuits, Pup-Pops and those amazing Book Thongs will be available.

LuLu's Kidswear. Lulu's Kidswear, created by Mary Lou Hay, is a unique line of 100-percent cotton children's clothing. Sizes range from newborn through 6. Each piece is hand-designed and one of a kind. Many of the designs incorporate recycled fabrics and support USA-made garments. This month will feature new designs for summer.

Embellished. Owner Ximena McCall's motto is "Love life, embellish it," and she puts it into practice with her handmade embellished accessories for hair, hats, scarves, shoes, flip flops, pins and purses.

Innovative Design (innovativedesignboise.com). This Boise-based company specializes in creating products using vintage items. They offer a wide variety of one-of-a-kind items, including jewelry, bookmarks, letter openers, wine bottle stoppers and more.

Massage and Skin Care Solutions (massageandskincaresolutions.com). Frances Vincen-Brown and Eric Brown will have their handcrafted Botanical Skin Care Solutions products available. These products are created with organically processed herbs, natural oils, pure essential oils and pure ingredients. New this month: Exfoliating sugar lip treatment and lip moisturizing balm with vanilla mint flavor. Eric Brown will also be on site offering free 15-minute chair massages.

Veggie Stakes. It's gardening season again, and these hand-painted, weather-resistant wood markers are just the thing to add more splashes of color to your garden. The practical and decorative Veggie Stakes are available in various sizes and colors for under $9 each. The reflective jewel on top of the larger stakes helps to discourage birds from eating crops.

Other Sunday Market Creators scheduled for May:

Boise Beanie Company (boisebeaniecompany.com)
Mud Pie Arts Pottery (mudpiearts.com)
Upstart Art (upstart-art.com)
Holesinsky Organic Vineyard and Winery (holesinsky.com)
Starlight Herb and Spice Company (starlightherbs.com)
Intermountain Arts
Pockarooz
Robin Kelly - Hands and Earth
Chealse Henson Skirts

Live music will be provided by Larry Clark. The Boise musician writes and performs original instrumental acoustic music. He has been performing in and around Boise since moving here in 1986.

A portion of May Sunday Market proceeds will be donated to Boise Bicycle Project (boisebicycleproject.org), a non-profit bicycle cooperative that is kind of like a regular bike shop but completely different. Its bicycle mechanics are actually mad scientists who resurrect donated bicycles and transform them into functional pieces of rolling-sustainable art. Since 2007, Boise Bicycle Project's scientists and army of volunteers have revived, recycled and redistributed over 2,500 bicycles into the community. The organization believes that dirty-greasy hands are a luxury and that bicycle maintenance is an empowering journey that begins each time you enter its doors.

A portion of Sunday Market proceeds are donated back to the community each month. Past recipients include the Idaho Foodbank, Boise Rescue Mission, Women's and Children's Alliance of Boise, Boise Bicycle Project, Idaho Youth Ranch, Interfaith Housing Services, Treasure Valley Institute for Children's Arts (TrICA), Boise Community Radio and the Treasure Valley Family YMCA.
