HISTORIC ELECTRIC GUITAR EXHIBIT added to BLUES ADDICTS LIVE AT THE LINEN concert Saturday, Jan. 23 Boise Blues Society display will include two of the first electric guitars manufactured for public sale in the 1930s A historic electric guitar exhibit has been added to The Blues Addicts Live at the Linen concert on Saturday, Jan. 23. The concert starts at 8 p.m. at the Linen Building, 1402 W. Grove St. in Downtown Boise's Linen District. $3 for Boise Blues Society members with I.D. and $5 for member guests and the general public. Advance tickets available at the Linen Building. All ages, full bar. The Boise Blues Society exhibit, located on the first-floor mezzanine, will feature a variety of vintage instruments, including incredibly rare Rickenbacker Electro "Frying Pan" and Electro Spanish electric guitars that were among the first electric guitars manufactured in the 1930s for public sale. For a comprehensive history of the guitars, visit rickenbacker.com/history_early.asp. The Blues Addicts are not your typical blues band. A seasoned quintet, the Addicts perform a wide variety of songs made popular by their musical heroes. Eric Clapton, Derek and the Dominos, the Allman Brothers Band, JJ Cale, Muddy Waters, Mark Knopfler, Traffic and Little Feat are some examples of the artists they draw their inspiration from, and uniquely, The Blue Addicts don't just do the hits - expect to hear deep album cuts along with classic rock radio favorites. For more information on The Blues Addicts and to hear song samples, visit the band at purevolume.com/bluesaddict. The Rickenbacker guitars will be available prior to the concert for any media outlet interested in covering the event.
